You can still click here to register now for the 2023 CYD Endorsing Convention presented by AFSCME 3299, the National Union of Healthcare Workers (NUHW), and Pechanga Band of Indians taking place in Sacramento on November 17-19, 2023 in conjunction with the California Democratic Party Endorsing Convention. If you register late, you will have a handwritten credential. Registration is $75 per person.

All CYD business meetings are at the SAFE Credit Union Convention Center, located at: 1400 J Street, Sacramento, CA 95814.

Registration, where you pick-up your credentials, on Friday is open from 4:30pm to 7:30pm. Registration on Saturday is open from 7:30am to 4:30pm. Registration is on the second floor of the Convention Center outside of Rooms MR 10 & MR 11, except Saturday morning from 7:30am to 9:30am when registration will be at The Grand Ballroom (1215 J Street, Sacramento, CA 95814 – diagonally across from the Convention Center) during CYD’s breakfast. The Friday night Young Democrats Welcome Reception hosted by the Sacramento County Young Democrats begins at 7:00 PM at: Thirtyfour Mexican Cantina (1100 O Street, Sacramento, CA 95814). Confirmed guest speakers include State Assembly leaders Cecilia Aguiar-Curry, Isaac G. Bryan, and Rick Chavez Zbar. Attendance is free for all registered CYD attendees and includes drinks/appetizers, however, please make sure to register in advance by clicking here.

Friday 9pm to Midnight, CYD is excited to partner with Equality California, Planned Parenthood Affiliates of CA, Senate President pro Tempore Toni G. Atkins, and Assemblymembers Josh Lowenthal and Evan Low for the Party for Marriage Equality. Marriage equality will be on the 2024 ballot, and you won’t want to miss this event featuring a special musical act. This event requires a separate ticket purchase, but thankfully tickets for registered CYD attendees are only $10 each. SATURDAY BREAKFAST: Saturday, starting at 8am, join us for the CYD Breakfast for Marriage Equality with Assemblymember Evan Low & the CYD API Caucus at The Grand Ballroom (1215 J Street). There will be breakfast burritos, coffee and starting at 9:30am a mandatory Harassment, Assault & Bullying Prevention Training with Alondra Esquivel Garcia.

SATURDAY MORNING TRAININGS: After, we will head back to the Convention Center, Rooms MR 10 and MR 11, for trainings starting at 10:15am. First, we have the CYD & Democratic Party 101 Training with CYD Vice President of Membership Codi Vierra or the Making Cents: Young Dem Fundraising Training with CYD Immediate Past-President Diane Le, and then starting at 11am there is the Building the Young Voter Revolution Organizing 101 Training with Grassroots Democrats HQ & CYD Executive Director Eddie Kirby or the Making a Splash with Communications Workshop with Kevin Liao & CYD OC Regional Director Jeanie Le. 

SATURDAY LUNCH: Starting at 12:45pm, join us back at The Grand Ballroom (1215 J Street) for the CYD Awards Lunch.

CAUCUS MEETINGS: After lunch, we have a short break before beginning our CYD Caucus meetings: CYD Labor Caucus meets at 3pm (Room MR 10), CYD Latine Caucus meets at 4pm (Room MR 10), and there will be a Speed Candidating event with the CYD Womxn’s, API, and Environmental Caucuses starting at 5pm (Room MR 1-2).

MOVIE & DISCUSSION: Also starting at 3pm, CYD is excited to host a showing of the documentary “The Mountain That Weeps” followed by a discussion with Pechanga Band of Indians representative Paula Treat in Room MR 11. Learn more and view the trailer for The Mountain That Weeps here.

GENERAL SESSION MEETINGS: The California High School Democrats will meet at 6pm, the California College Democrats will meet at 7pm, and the California Young Democrats General Session meeting will begin at 8pm. All will be held in Room MR 1-2. CYD is excited to welcome California Assembly Speaker Robert Rivas, Senate President pro Tempore Toni G. Atkins, and Congressmembers and candidates for U.S. Senate Barbara Lee, Katie Porter, and Adam Schiff as guest speakers during our General Session meeting.
